Oficially Awesome Valentine

Mustache Valentine-001

Supplies: MDS2+ (130646), MDS2 (130644), MDS2 upgrade (130650), or 30-day FREE trial of MDS2 (130910); Officially Awesome Valentines Kit (133009); Love Letter Designer Series Paper – pattern 1 (124012)

This is going to be my husband's valentine. I plan to print out the card front and mount it on Cherry Cobbler card stock. He has a mustache which I won't let him shave off. Yes…I guess I have a thing for mustaches! I used parts of the Oficially Awesome Valentine Kit to make this card. The background is one of the prints in the Love Letter Designer Series Paper. Purchase both the kit and the dsp by clicking on their names or by visiting my online store.

Day in the Life Scrapbook Page

Armful of Love-001
Supplies: MDS2+ (130646), MDS2 (130644), MDS2 upgrade (130650), or 30-day FREE trial of MDS2 (130910); BackgroundDay in the Life Designer Series Paper -9 from the Day in the Life Kit (128876); EmbellishmentsNeutral Delightful Digital Tape 4 (128874)- very vanilla; StampsFrench Foliage – splatter 9 found in the Autumn Spice Digital Kit (122175); PunchesFlag Punch (125785),  Filled with: colors using the color picker and Day in the Life Designer Series Paper– 7 from the Day in the Life Kit.

Digital kits are such a great bargain! You may not want to use the templates in a digital kit but the designer series papers, embellishments and stamps included in the kits can be used again and again.

I used elements of two digital kits for today's scrapbook page. I used the designer series papers from Day in the Life Kit as the background and to fill a couple of the flag punches. This kit includes a 36-piece stamp brush set, 12 Designer Series Paper patterns, 21 embellishments, and a two-page 8" x 8" designer template.

Day in the Life index

The splatters I used came from the French Foliage stamp brush set which comes in the Autumn Spice Digital Kit. Unfortunately, this is the only way you can get this lovely stamp brush set. However, another stamp brush set the Day of Gratitude is included as well as the 12 designs of the Autumn Spice Designer Series Paper. You get all of this for only $9.95. The Autumn Spice Designer Series Paper that was in the 2010 Holiday mini catalog is retired but with this kit, you can use it again and again! Check out all the pieces of this kit.

Have I convinced you yet of the great bargain you get with digital kits? To order the two kits I have featured today, either click on their linked names under the photo or visit my online store to place your order.

I created this card using this stamp brush set and Sunshine & Sprinkles Designer Series Paper. To cover the seam between the Whisper White  Dotted Scallop Ribbon border and the dsp, I added my favorite Timeless Taffeta Trimmings ribbon. I used the Not Quite Navy selections and recolored them with Baja Breeze.

I like to give you a list of the supplies I have used in a project and give you the links to those supplies in my online store. I am wondering if the present way of listing them works well for you or would they be better in a vertical list at the end of my blog post. A Sunshine and Sprinkles Happy Birthday

Sunshine and Sprinkles digital birthday card

Supplies: MDS2+ (130646), MDS2 (130644), MDS2 upgrade (130650), or 30-day FREE trial of MDS2 (130910); Background – Card Stock/Marina Mist; EmbellishmentsSatin Ribbon (121063) – Certainly Celery bow; StampsBring on the Cake Stamp Brush Set (124015) – Happy Birthday Script; PunchesFlag Punch (125785) Filled with: Sunshine & Sprinkles Designer Series Paper – 11 and 16 (130670)

I discovered this morning that today is a friend's birthday and wanted to send a birthday e-card to her via FaceBook. So I open up my MDS2 program on my computer and create a card, attach the photo of it to a comment on her wall and deed is done!

That is one reason I love MDS so much! It is so convenient! There is no mess and no fuss! Are you ready yet to give digital crafting a whirl? Click on the 30-day FREE trial of MDS2 link and get started. I am here to help you so don't hesitate to ask for the help.

Now on to the card. I love the new Sunshine & Sprinkles Designer Series Paper you can purchase from the new Spring Catalog and am so delighted that it is also available in digital form. The colors are so cheery! I used it to fill the flag punch. I added a second flag punch and used the color picker feature to fill it with a shade of blue from the dsp.

The yellow layer is the 1.25" square punch filled with another pattern of the Sunshine & Sprinkles dsp. Originally I had filled it with one of the creamy colors in the flag's dsp. I loved the color but wanted more texture on that layer so I filled the punch with dsp instead. (It's so wonderful to be able to change your mind with a few keystrokes and not have a wasted piece of paper!) The greeting is from the Bring on the Cake stamp brush set. I have included the index for this stamp set and an index of the wonderful Sunshine & Sprinkles dsp below.

Affection Collection Valentine

Affection Valentine-001Supplies: MDS2+ (130646), MDS2 (130644), MDS2 upgrade (130650), or 30-day FREE trial of MDS2 (130910);Background – Card Stock/Very Vanilla; EmbellishmentsTimeless Taffeta Trimmings – ruffle bow and large bow (131329) not quite navy (re-colored); StampsInk Splatter 4 (comes with MDS2), Affection Collection (133016); Punches – 1.25 Square Punch, Fill Color = BLUSHING BRIDE; Subtles Playful Patterns Designer Series Paper – pink pirouette 1 (126163)

Love is in the air when you use the Affection Collection Stamp Brush Set. It gives such a romantic and vintage flair to any card you create. I added the ink splatters to this card to build on the antique feel. I was challenging myself to create a more artsy card. Did I succeed? Leave a comment letting me know what you think. This style is out of my comfort zone and I'll appreciate any suggestions you care to give. Thanks!

Until next time…blessings,

Bring on the Valentines!

More Amore DSP Valentine
Now that Christmas and New Year have passed, it's time to get started on your valentines. This card was one of the two cards we made at the Craig card group meeting yesterday. The base is Very Vanilla and we used one of the More Amore Specialty Designer Series Papers (129309) as the next layer. Hearts were cut from Very Vanilla and Primrose Petal card stock using framelit 1 and 3 (the smallest one being #1) of the Hearts Collection Framelits (125599). We used the valentine greeting from the Wacky Wishes stamp set (c-126412, w-126410). Adding a Basic Rhinestone on the small heart give a touch of bling.

Wacky Wishes index
The More Amore Specialty Designer Series Paper is just one of the wonderful designer series papers found in the new Stampin' Up! Spring catalog. If you are one of my regular customers, you should have received one in the mail by now. If you haven't received it or if you don't have a demonstrator, give me an email and I'll be happy to send you one. There are soooo many wonderful new stamping toys to be seen!

Before our grandson and his family moved back from Germany, his family went to a Christmas market in Eislingen. Ashley shared these photos on Facebook. I love the colors in the photos. I normally wouldn't use chevrons on my art work but they mimic the awning on the booth perfectly. Our granddaughter-in-law is beautiful and I love this picture of her enjoying her first taste of Gluehwein or hot spiced wine.
