Stampin’ Trimmer Is Retiring!

Picture of the Stampin' Trimmer

It has just been announced that the Stampin’ Trimmer (126889) is retiring the end of May along with the replacement blades and mat. Here is what Stampin’ Up! announced:

Stampin’ Trimmer Discontinuation

We have decided to retire the Stampin’ Trimmer as of June 3, 2019, including all accessories—replacement cutting blades, scoring blades, and cutting mats. We’ve experienced challenges with our supplier and are taking the opportunity to research and explore a replacement option for this product, which will not be the same as the current Stampin’ Trimmer. There will be a gap in time between when the current Stampin’ Trimmer retires and when a new product becomes available, but we do not currently have an estimated time frame. Once we feel confident in the new offering, we will communicate more details with you about the new product.

While the replacement cutting blades will also retire with the trimmer and will not be featured in the annual catalog, we have ordered what would normally be six months of inventory based on recent historical patterns to help demonstrators and customers during this transition away from our current trimmer. But please know that this news could cause faster inventory depletion. When the retiring list goes live on April 15, the order limit for the blades will increase from three to six (and the limit will remain at six until they’re no longer available). And from now until September, we will receive intermittent shipments from the supplier. Throughout these months, we anticipate times when the blades will not be orderable (and not offered as a backorder). During those downtimes, you and your customers will have the option to enter an email address to receive notification when the blades are available again.

I love my Stampin’ Trimmer for these reasons:

  • It has a scoring blade as well as a cutting blade.
  • You can cut 12″ x 12″ cardstock with it.
  • You can start and end a cut in the middle of the piece of cardstock’
  • It has a ruler of up to 1 inch on the right hand side of the cutting/scoring groove.
  • You can easily change out old cutting blades for new ones.
  • The Stampin’ Trimmer is lightweight and very portable.

I am sorry to see the Stampin’ Trimmer is retiring. If you don’t have one, be sure to buy one now while there are adequate quantities. I’m sure they will sell out before the end of May and the extra blades will sell out even faster since multiple quantities can be ordered.

It’s the Last Day to Get the Painted Seasons Bundle

Today is last day to get the Painted Seasons Bundle! Of all the many really great free items you can choose with your purchases during SAB, the one I love the most is the Painted Seasons Bundle (150349).

Outside of a twist and pop card using the Painted Seasons bundle and the Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

The DistINKtive stamp design of this stamp set makes it so easy to stamp images with great depth. Here is the outside and below is the card opened out.

Twist and Pop card opened

The bundle is perfect for floral cards and for Christmas cards. Check out the images in it.

You can also buy the Four Seasons Framelits Dies (150074) to make cutting out the stamps a snap. However, you only have until midnight mountain time to place an order for $100 or more to be able to get this Four Seasons Bundle. After midnight it will no longer be available and Sale-A-Bration will be over.

Tea Together

jhandmade card using the Tea Together stamp set and corresponding free SAB Tea Time Framelits

This Tea Together stamp set (148779) has recently become my favorite stamp set from the Occasions catalog. Ron and I have started drinking a cup or two of tea each evening after dinner. While we don’t use such a delicate tea cup and teapot, we do enjoy having our tea. The sentiment says it all…Love is a warm cup of tea. Here are all the images that are in this stamp set.

Index for the Tea Together stamp set

They are perfect for coloring in and the tea cup and teapot look great when stamped on designer series paper and then cut out with the matching Tea Time Framelits Dies (149697)you get for free with a purchase of $100 worth of products during Sale-A-Bration..

The lacy white “table cloth” was cut with one of the Lovely Flowers Edgelits Dies (148526). This set of edgelits can be bought as a bundle with the Forever Lovely stamp set (148624) but the dies work nicely alone as in this Tea Together card. Check out all the dies of this set.

Be Mine Valentine

photo of a Valentine created with Be Mine Stitched Framelits

I really love the intricacy of this Be Mine Stitched Framelits set of dies! I wasn’t going to get it at first but seeing all the wonderful cards created with it, I yielded to temptation and purchased it. Just look at all the heart die you get with the set

I used one of the patterns of the beautiful All My Love Designer Series Paper for a background layer over Sahara Sand card base. I cut the lacy heart from Lovely Lipstick Foil paper and added a block of it behind the Whisper White hearts. The greeting was cut from Basic Black cardstock with one of the Sunshine Wishes dies to serve as an accent and make the greeting stand out. I have shown the products I used below. Click on the images to find them in my online store if you need any of them to create this card yourself. Remember that if you use my February host code when ordering, I’ll send you a small gift for ordering.

Happy Tails Valentine

Photo shows handmade Valentine with die-cut heart and a dog

Our puppy dogs give us such unlimited love that I thought a Valentine created with this Happy Tails bundle would be perfect to give my husband. The Happy Tails stamp set and Dog Builder Punch are in the 2019 Occasions Catalog. I also used the Sunshine Sayings stamp set and the Sunshine Wishes thinlits for the greeting and heart.

Did you know you can create your own designer series paper? That is what I did for the background. I stamped the little heart that comes in the Happy Tails stamp set repeatedly on Whisper White cardstock with Lovely Lipstick ink. The photo does not show the shine on the heart very well but it was cut from the Lovely Lipstick Foil Sheet which is one of the FREE selections you can choose when you order $50 or more during Sale-A-Bration. The foil paper comes with Grapefruit Grove Foil paper in the package as well. The Grapefruit Grove foil is very iridescent. You can see how very much it is on this card we made during my Occasions catalog celebration party. Check it out! The stamp set is Humming Along, also from the new Occasions catalog

Birthday card created with the Humming Along stamp set.

Now click on the items I used for these cards to be taken to their places in my online store so you can order what you need to create these cards for yourself. Remember you can choose a free SAB item for each $50 you purchase in product during SAB!

2nd Sneak Peek of Forever Lovely

Handmade card created with Forever Lovely Stamp SetHere is a second card I have created with the Forever Lovely stamp set that is in the Occasions catalog. You will be able to order this lovely stamp set and corresponding Forever Lovely Edgelit Dies as a bundle come January 3rd. See the card I shared Saturday here.

This time I stamped the flowers and leaves on Whisper White cardstock with Powder Pink and Old Olive ink and fussy cut them out. I stamped the greeting also on Whisper White cardstock with Old Olive ink and cut it out with one of the Stitched Label Framelits Dies. The card base is Powder Pink and I embossed a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock with the Tufted 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The greeting and the flowers are popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Pearls from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls were added for the finishing touch.

You can order all but the stamp set now by clicking on the images below to go to their place in my online store. If you don’t have a demonstrator and would like a free copy of the upcomng Occasions catalog, email me your address and phone number (so I can call to see if you need any supplies).

Forever Lovely Bundle Sneak Peek

Handmade card using the Forever Lovely Bundle and Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper

I am so excited about this Forever Lovely bundle that is in the Occasions catalog! Today I was cleaning off my stamping table and found that I had not opened the Lovely Flowers Edgelits Dies that are a part of this bundle and put the dies on a magnetic sheet. While doing this, I discovered this absolutely gorgeous die. I just HAD to try it out right away. Oh my goodness! It is so lovely!

I cut the end off a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Powder Pink cardstock using this die. Then I adhered a piece of the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper behind the cardstock and cut it back down to 5 1/4″ x 4″ for the layer. Using my stamparatus made it easy to get the greeting right where I wanted and straight. I put the stamp down on the cardstock where I wanted it and picked it up with the acrylic plate of the stamparatus. The plate has grid lines on it so I straightened the stamp according to the grid lines, inked it up, with Mossy Meadow ink, and stamped. I didn’t get enough pressure on one side of the stamp so the image was a little light. No problem…I just stamped again and corrected the problem. A bow of Berry Burst 3/8″ Metallic Ribbon adds the finishing touch. I stamped a flower and some leaves in the corner of a Whisper White layer for the inside.

Signs of Santa Bundle

Christmas Card created with Signs of Santa stamp set

The Signs of Santa Bundle is one of my favorite bundles in the Holiday catalog. The faces of the elves, Santa, and Mrs. Santa cheer me up! On this card I chose to use the elves. They are on their way with their wagon of presents to bring a Merry Christmas from the North Pole. I used the tree pattern of the Santa’s Workshop Specialty Designer Series Paper layered on the red dotted pattern as the background. Of course the elves would have to travel through a forest. Right? I added a little ‘snow’ on the signs with the Shimmery White embossing paste. The images were stamped on Shimmer White cardstock with Memento ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends…my favorite way to color!

You can order the supplies to create this card for yourself through my online store. Just click on the images below.

New 2018-2019 Stampin’ Up! Colors

photo shows display of the new Stampin' Up! colorsThis past weekend I held a New Catalog Party and laid out all the new Stampin’ Up! colors on display. I get such pleasure looking at the beautiful rainbow they make although they aren’t in rainbow order in this display. It is hard to choose just one favorite color but I am really drawn to Soft Seafoam, Highland Heather, and Granny Apple Green. What is your favorite color? Leave a comment below.

This photo also shows how I store my scraps. The 8 1/2″ x 11″ cardstock is stored in hanging folders, one folder for each color. I arrange them by colors, not family groups. I put the scraps in these 6″ x 8″ cellophane bags that Stampin’ Up! also sells (102210) and file them in the corresponding hanging folder. Pieces of cardstock that are larger than 6″ I cut down to 5 1/2″ for a card base.

Stampin’ Up! 2018 Color Revamp Rocks!

photo of cards using some of the new 2018 Color Revamp colorsI am loving the new colors in the 2018 Color Revamp and the new 2018-2020 In Colors that I just couldn’t choose a favorite! I started a card by embossing the main image with the new Lovely Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder which you can get this month as part of the Share What You Love Gotta Have It All Bundle (149526). Then I sponged Highland Heather ink on the raised image. It is the sixth card from the left. Then I wondered what the card would look like using other new colors. From the left the colors are: Blueberry Bushel, one of the new In Colors; Balmy Blue; Grapefruit Grove, another In Color; Lovely Lipstick, still another In Color; Gorgeous Grape; Highland Heather; and Granny Apple Green.

So…(aaack, there I go again starting a sentence with so! My husband pointed that habit out to me!) Which of these colors do you like best? Leave a comment.

Waterfront Sunset

easel calendar card created with Waterfront stamp setThe secret artista in me has been released with this Waterfront stamp set! I love, love, love using the various stamps to create this water-colored look using the stamps in this set. No, I’m not really an artist, the stamps and the wonderful Stampin’ Up! inks make it look like I am an artist. Eh…maybe a stamper really is an artist, just not one who draws the images. Anyway, I’m thrilled with the results of my stamping tonight.

Since January is the beginning of a new year, I wanted to hold a class where we made an easel card with a mini calendar on it. To make an easel card, cut a piece of cardstock 4 1/4″ x 11″ and fold it in half. Then fold the front of the card in half again with a mountain fold. Glue a 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ piece of cardstock to just the section of the card front that is farthest from the center fold. Put a button, bow, or popped up label on the bottom of the inside of the card to hold the easel open. Decorate the front however you want.

For this card I used Soft Sky for the card base. Then I stamped a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Whisper White cardstock with my scene using a variety of inks. I did mask the mountains when I stamped the setting sun. I used Tranquil Tide for the mountains and the pine trees. The grass was Garden Green. I used Marina Mist and Soft Sky to stamp the water and sponged Soft Sky on the sky. The sun was stamped with Tangerine Tango. The clouds were stamped with Sweet Sugarplum, Melon Mambo, and Peekaboo Peach. I also stamped some Peekaboo Peace on the water.

This layer was then adhered to a 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer of Tranquil Tide and then to the card base. I really urge you to purchase the Waterfront stamp set and release your inner artist. The stamp set also has images to make a tropical waterfront. You can purchase the supplies I used for this card by clicking on the images below to go to my online store. When you order, use the January host code and I’ll send you a small Thank You gift.
