A Family with Spice…Autumn Spice!

Photos for Irma-001
Supplies: MDS2+ (130646), MDS2 (130644), MDS2 upgrade (130650), or 30-day FREE trial of MDS2 (130910); Autumn Spice Digital Kit /Autumn Spice Designer Series Paper – pattern 6 (122175)

Welcome to My Digital Craft Corner today. I created this scrapbook page of our younger daughter's family for Ron's sister. Since the background has such strong images, I added no other embellishments. One of the new features of MDS2 is the ability to drag a picture onto your canvas, then click a button and have the picture cropped into a circle. Then you can double click on the photo and change the size and shape of the circle. That made creating this page quick and easy.

Did you know that you can get a free roll of the In Color stitched 5/8" satin ribbon for every $40 you spend during September? This ribbon is high quality ribbon and is perfect not only for embellishing paper crafts but also clothing or for gift wrapping. You get 10 yards per roll. What a bargain….FREE! Visit my demonstrator online store to place your order.

If you want a copy of the 2012-2013 Annual Catalog or the Holiday mini catalog, email me with your phone number. I'll give you a call to discuss how you can get the catalogs totally FREE.

Until next time…blessings,
Sue

Autumn Accents card

Fall LeavesI had this very card in mind when I purchased the Autumn Accents die, Early Espresso Core'dinations paper, and the Tweet Leaves stamp set. Although I had a technical challenge to get the Tweet Leaves stamp to make a clear image, I am pleased with the card.  am excited to have the Champagne Glimmer paper. Last fall, I worked very hard to get this color by painting reinkers onto the silver glimmer paper. I used a variety of autumn colored markers and inks on this card.

Supplies:

Stamp Sets: Itty Bitty Banners (w-126255, c-126257), Tweet Leaves (wood mount only 128111)
Card Stock: More Mustard, Very Vanilla, Champagne Glimmer Paper (127885), Early Espresso Core'dinations (127848)
Other: Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (127821), Labels Collection Framelits (125599), Bitty Banners Framelits (120267), Autumn Accents Bigz Die (127812), Cherry Cobbler 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon (120992)

Thanks for coming to visit today. If you need any of the supplies I used for this card, just click on the links or visit my demonstrator online store here.

9/11 Remembered

Remembring...9-11-001
Where were you when you first heard about the attack on the Twin Towers? I'm sure you remember vividly. The most unceivable thing had just happened and we were all stunned and shocked! Eleven years have gone by and the memories begin to fade. On this memorial the names of the people who died that day and in the days after are cut out of the metal surrounding these pools. You can see the waterfalls through the letters and at night the lights shine up through the names.

Today, let's take some time to remember all those ordinary people going about their ordinary day whose deaths have left a great hole in the fabric of our society. Let's take time to give thanks to all the self-less rescuers who gave their lives or are now dealing with health issues resulting from their efforts.

I used the following supplies to create this scrapbook page: MDS2+ (130646), MDS2 (130644), MDS2 upgrade (130650), or 30-day FREE trial of MDS2 (130910); Vintage Overlay Stamp Brush Set – texture 12 (121061). I got the photo from the 9/11 Memorial web page and used Lucinda Calligraphy and Arial fonts for the text. I was surprised how subtle the Vintage Overlay was. Maybe it is because I usually use it on cards and shrink it down more to fit.

Today is also Terrific Tuesday and we get new MDS2 downloads for our creating pleasure. Click here to see them.

Thanks for coming to visit my blog today. I am going to post daily so keep checking to see what I have for you.

Until next time…blessings,
Sue

Four Frames Wedding Card

Petite Pairs Wedding CardThis stamp set, Four Frames, is one I had to keep out from storage when we packed up our house. It is not a new set as it came out in the Occasions mini catalog two springs ago. I love it though because it coordinates so well with the decorative label punch. The Petite Pairs stamp set greeting fits into the decorative labe punch perfectly. Then I went to my punches to see what would work to punch out the second part of the greeting. Guess what? The larger of the two tickets on the Ticket Duo punch works just right. I bought the punch to finish the Make & Takes from convention but hadn't used it yet. I'm so happy to find another use for the punch. I ran the Pink Pirouette card stock through the Big Shot with the Fancy Fan embossing folder, then wrapped a piece of 5/8" Victoria Crochet trim around it. The labels are popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.
The supplies I used are listed below. If you don't have some of them, you know you will need them so just click on their names to take you to my online store. Or…you can make a list and then visit my store here.

Supplies: Four Frames (w-123440, c-123442)and Petite Pairs stamp sets (w-122495, c-122497), Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (127751), Decorative Label Punch (120907), Ticket Duo Punch (126883), 5/8" Victoria Crochet Trim (118481)

Day in the Life Scrap Map 1 Challenge

Scrap Map 1 Challenge-001
Supplies: MDS2+ (130646), MDS2 (130644), MDS2 upgrade (130650), or 30-day FREE trial of MDS2 (130910); Day in the Life Digital Kit (128876), Square punch from Punch Shapes (118853), Hexagon Punch (130924), Neutral Delightful Digital Tape (128874), Knots and Ties Trim (131211)

Welcome to My Digital Craft Corner this Sunday evening. As you probably know by now, we have to mini dachshunds which are our very spoiled fur-babies. They reward us not only with loving face washes but hilarious sleeping positions. Here are a few photos I have collected. We had in-floor heating in our house so Little One learned how to lay on the floor and cover herself with the pillow or dog bed. The next thing she learned was to sleep in one dog bed and cover herself with the other one making a little cave for herself. We have a blanket on the couch for them to curl up in. I love the photo where their heads are covered but their hind ends are exposed. "…you can't see us!"

I love the colors in the pattern six of Day in the Life Digital Kit. Mos often, I purchase a kit or designer template not so much for the layouts but for the designer series paper or a punch or stamp set included in the kit. I used the Neutrals Delightful Digital Tape for the background of my title and I recolored the Knots and Ties Trim to Midnight Muse to coordinate with the background card stock.

On www.mydigitalstudio.net there is a Scrap Mat Challenge which was my inspiration for my page. Here is the Scrap Map 1.

ScrapMap1
Now it is your turn to meet the challenge. Create a scrapbook page along the lines of the scrap map and then email it to me. I will share it on my blog. Then also post it on www.mydigitalstudio.net. If you need any downloads to complete your scrapbook page, just visit my online store or click on the names of the products I used.

I'm glad you came by to visit today. Do come back again very soon. I am challenging myself to post every day. Check up on me to see how I am doing.

International Literacy Day

Family reading

Since today is Inational Literacy Day, I am going to speak on a different subject than rubber stamping. Literacy is so important and opens wide a world of possibilities to those who are literate.

One thing parents can do to help their children be literate is to have the printed word in the home and for children to see their parents reading the printed word. In our society today with so much audio access to learning and entertainment, it is especially important for children to see you using the printed word.

A second thing to enhance literacy in children is to read to them even when they are in the upper elementary grades and even into middle school. The time spent reading to your children also is time together. I love reading children's books and reading them to children. I think my favorite author to read is Dr. Seuss! I love the rhythm and alliteration of his writings. So do the kids. His nonsense themes strike a chord in children of all ages. I teach children who are dyslexic and a big part of the program we use is to have them read nonsense words. After working with nonsense words for 7+ years, I have become a proficient Dr. Seuss reader…LOL! His nonsense words just roll of my tongue!

Do you have a book you love to read over and over again? Leave a comment telling us the book's title and why you like it so much.

Thanks for visiting here today. I appreciate it.

Until next time…blessings,

Another Wherever You Go Framed Art

Wherever Rose wall artSupplies: MDS2+ (130646), MDS2 (130644), MDS2 upgrade (130650), or 30-day FREE trial of MDS2 (130910); Wherever You Go stamp brush set (131514), square punch from Punch Shapes (118853)

Here is another of the sayings from Wherever You Go stamp brush set. I can see using this stamp with a photo collage of a student's first day of school pictures enlarged to a poster with this particular saying overlayed on the collage to give to a graduating senior from high school or pictures of various places the student went. What possibilities can you think up? Share them in a comment. Whatever the theme, using MDS2 to add this stamp brush set to a photo makes easy but beautiful wall art. Consider making a few, sending them off to our professional printer and then framing them for Christmas presents.

Holiday Mini Swap – Last Day

Are you tired of seeing Christmas cards yet? Here are the last three cards I received in the SUDSOL Holiday mini card swap. I hope you have enjoyed seeing them all.

Gold embossed tree 1This card by Michelle Bentrum has two features that I love. First, the Evergreen stamp set (c-127973, w-127970) has been calling my name ever since the new Holiday mini came out. I love the squiggly-lined stamp to stamp over the tree. Michelle embossed this stamp with gold embossing powder.

The second thing I absolutely adore is the Bigz Snow Flurry Die (127813). Last year we had a long Sizzlit strip with snowflakes that were just beautiful. I sweat blood and tears trying to cut snowflakes out of our glimmer paper with the die to no avail. This die is a steel die and it cuts the glimmer paper like butter! Yay! Maybe now I will get last year's Christmas cards actually made and sent. The dsp Michelle used is Be of Good Cheer (126896).

Merry MinisThis cute card was made by Janette Espinosa. She used the Merry Mins punch pack (126882), the 1" square punch (124094), and the 3/4" circle punch (119873). The stamp sets were Merry Minis (c-127919. w-127916) and the hosetess set, Whacky Wishes (c-126412, w-126410. I love it when there is a coordinating punch for a stamp set like the Merry Minis. It cuts down on the time it takes to make a card, especially when you are making a bunch for Christmas.

Frosty Friends I like the cheery snowmen of the Frosty Friends stamp (129117) that Angie Brailsford used to create this card. The greeting is from the Occasions Alphabet (w-117090, c-123598). Have you purchased it yet? There is a greeting for 26 different occasions. One stamp on a punched piece of card stock says it all. You can find this alpahbet on pg.145 of the Annual catalog. You really should go check it out. Angie used the Argyle embossing folder (127750) for the background and added the white dots with the White Gel Pen (105021).

Thanks for coming by to visit today. I appreciate your visiting. If you like the work you see here, would you sign up for my The Soggy Stamper Newsletter? The subscribe box in to the right on this blog. I am offering the 12 Weeks of Christmas free class to my newsletter subscribers beginning the first week of October. Each Wednesday I will email you an exclusive Christmas project. Be sure you are one of my subscribers so you don't miss any of the projects.
