My Digital Studio Monday – Halloween’s a coming!

Mds monday 10-3-11-001 copy

To get you in the Halloween spirit, the Utah Divas International design team for MDS Monday are to create a card or scrapbook page that is creepy. First I filled the background with Basic Black. Then I created a huge moon using the circle punch filled with Barely Banana color and then decreased the opacity to about 75% to make it a little less bright. Next I used the bat punch and created 5 Basic gray bats flying across the moon. I stamped the tree from the Bold Branches Stamp Brush Set and reduced the size to fit this 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card. I created the sentiment with the Schoolbook Serif Alphabet stamp brush set. As I was doing this, I was inspired to use the o's to create the glowing 'eyes' in the tree. This was a quick card to make and being able to change the size of stamps is one of the great benefits of the My Digital Studio software. Click here to order your own copy. To order any of the downloads used in this project, just click on the name of the download.

Supplies:

My Digital Studio (118108)
Circle Punch from Punch Shapes (118853)
Bitty Bat Punch (122152)
Bold Branches Stamp Brush Set (124212)
Schoolbook Serif Stamp Brush Set (118821)

Thanks for visiting today. I hope this little card gets you in a 'spooky' mood. Do come back to visit tomorrow when I give you the link to the newest digital downloads. Hopefully, Stampin' Up! will have updated the downloads on the front page of my online store by morning.

Until the next time…blessings,

My Digital Studio – Terrific Tuesday

Grateful Heart copy
I know, I know, I'm late with this post today. I had hoped that today's new My Digital Studio downloads would be on my online storefront by now. Since they are not, here is a different link for them. Download Sept_27 MDS downloads

The card I am sharing was an alternative for yesterday's My Digital Studio Monday post. I used the designer series paper Grateful Hearts Thanksgiving 1-07 filled into the Perfect Label punch. The focal image is the Fall stamp from the Anchored Stamp Brush Set. The Grateful Hearts Thanksgiving Ensemble is a great value as it includes a pumpkin punch, 43 stamp brushes, a set of designer series papers, as well as templates for place cards and napkin rings. If you haven't ordered your yet, be sure to click on the link to purchase it. You will have everything you need to decorate your table and send invitations for Thanksgiving dinner.

Supplies:
My Digital Studio (118108)
Grateful Heart Thanksgiving Ensemble (127620)
Anchored Stamp Brush Set (124581)
Perfect Label Punch (127340)

I'm grateful for your stopping by to visit today. How about a virtual cup of spiced cider to sip while you browse my blog. Do come back again and don't forget to order the Grateful Heart Thanksgiving Ensemble.

Until next time….blessings,

My Digital Studio Monday – Fall Themed Card

MDS Monday 9-26-11-002 copy
Our assignment as the design team for My Digital Studio Monday on Utah Divas International was to create a card or scrapbook page in honor of the official beginning of Fall. I used elements from the designer kit, Grateful Hearts Thanksgiving, to create this card. I added pumpkins from the Holiday Blitz stamp brush set and the Swirling Leaves from the Torn Edges stamp brush set. The letters of the word Fall came from the Grateful Hearts Thanksgiving as well as the phrases. I used a text frame for the word 'brings' and searched through the fonts on my computer to find one as close as possible to the font used for the phrases. The 'leaves' blowing off the tree branches are actually called berries but they work as leaves for me. :o) As always, you can click on the linked product name to order them from my online store.

Supplies:
My Digital Studio
(118108)

Grateful Hearts Designer Kit (127620)
Holiday Blitz Stamp Brush Set
Torn Edges Stamp Brush Set (118846)

My husband is an avid football watcher and the sound of football games either in a stadium or on TV bring back great memories of my marching band and football games in high school…and the often frosty nights. What is your favorite aspect of Fall? Share it with us by posting a comment.

Thanks for coming by to visit. Do come again soon.

Until then…blessings,

Out on a Limb

9-17-11 sketch          Out on a Limb

OK…I have been stamping and creating using hands-on materials in addition to using My Digital Studio, but haven't had the time to share my projects with you. So I need to get my rear in gear starting with the first major holiday of Fall, halloween. Now, I am not that big on Halloween but did order this Out on a Limb stamp set from Stampin' Up!'s Holiday mini catalog because I can see all kinds of possible non-Halloween cards using this set. I wanted to combine that set with the Designer Frames embossing folders to create this card using last weekend's Stamping 411 sketch. I am really pleased with the results.

Supplies:

Stamp Set: Out on a Limb (123822 wood, 123824 clear)
Paper: Basic Black (121045), Basic Gray (121044), Peach Parfait (119794), So Saffron (105118) and             Whisper White (100730) card stock
Ink: Basic Black Classic Stamp pad (101179)
Other: Ovals Sizzix Originals die (114525), Designer Frames embossing folder (123130), Extra-Large Oval punch (119859). Modern Label Punch (119849), Sponge Daubers (102892), Neutrals Brads (119736)

Thanks for checking out my blog today. Please enjoy a virtual cup of coffee, tea, or cider with me while you browse my blog. To order the supplies to make this card, either contact your local demonstrator or click on the item names to enter my online store. I'd love to be your demonstrator if you don't already have one.

Until next time….blessings,

My Digital Studio – Terrific Tuesday

Grunge card-001 copy

Well…it is still Tuesday in Alaska…barely! I had to wait until NCIS was over to finish this project since it was the first episode of the new season. Here is the link to the new My Digital Studio downloads released today. They are shown on the right hand side of my storefront. Just click on each one to see a larger picture, a description of the download, and to order them. I didn't download any of them today. Instead, I downloaded the Downtown Grunge Photobook Template. It has a wonderful crumpled paper and a couple other great designer papers. I have been eying the wrinkled paper for quite a while. It reminds me so much of antique paper that I created this card using the Open Seas Stamp Brush Set, the wrinkled paper and Vintage Overlay Stamp Brush Set. I hope you like it.

Supplies:

My Digital Studio (118108)
Downtown Grunge Photobook Template (126056)
So Happy for You Stamp Brush Set (retired)
Open Seas Stamp Brush Set (retired)
Vintage Overlay Stamp Brush Set (121061)
Baker's Twine (126035)
Modern Label Punch from Punch Shapes (118853)

My Digital Studio Monday – Baby in Moon page

Baby Page-001

Our theme on Utah Divas International this week is a baby card or page. I got this idea of putting a baby photo into a moon punch. Moon punch you ask? I didn't know there was a moon punch in My Digital Studio. Well, you are right. I took the solid moon stamp from Nursery Necessities and transformed it into a punch using the Inkscape program. Then I filled the punch with a photo of our great-granddaughter. The star is also a punch filled with Rock-a-bye Designer Series paper – So Saffron Large Polka-dot. There is a discussion thread on mydigitalstudio.net about how to convert a stamp into a punch. Click here for the link. By the way, if you haven't visited mydigitalstudio.net yet, you are missing out on a wealth of information.

Thanks for coming by to visit today. If you try your hand at creating your own punches, I'd love for you to send me a copy of your creation and I'll share it on this blog. Do come back tomorrow to see the new downloads Stampin' Up! releases this week.

Until your next visit…..blessings,

Sue
