My Digital Studio Mondays – Smitten Alphabet

MDS Monday 8-22-11-001 copy
Our design team assignment this week was to create a card or scrapbook page using ribbon or a bow. I chose to use a technique we learned at convention to make a pleated ribbon. I also used the new My Digital Studio download from last Tuesday called Smitten Alphabet Punch. I really like the font and being able to not only size it as desired but also fill it with designer series paper if I want, makes this alphabet punch really useful. The girl in the photo is my youngest granddaughter. I knitted the scarf she is modeling. I just love the softness of this picture!

If you would like to make a similar page to feature one of your treasured photos but need some of the supplies I used, just click on the links to be taken to my online store. The beauty of digital scrapbooking is that you can purchase a download and have it on your computer and ready to use in a matter of minutes.

I have filmed a video showing how to make this pleated ribbon which I plan to share later this week. So do come back to visit again soon.

Supplies: My Digital Studio (118108)

Paper: Brocade Blue Small Polka Dot Designer Series Paper (118891)

Accessories: Oval Punch from Punch Shapes (118853)
            Square Punch from Punch Shapes
Modern Label Punch  from Punch Shapes
            Smitten Alphabet Punch (127425)
            Antique Brads (122164)
Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon Bow (121063)

Until your next visit….blessings,

My Digital Studio – Terrific Tuesdays

Smitten Alphabet Punch 8x8 pg-001
I am sharing two 8" x 8" scrapbook pages using the new Smitten Alphabet Punch digital download for My Digital Studio that was released today. You can see the new downloads here, then go to my online store to purchase them. You will also see the new downloads featured on the right side of my store's front page.

The first scrapbook page features the designer template that comes with the alphabet. All you have to do is drop a photo into the photo box and you can be done. However, I always seem to want to change things a bit. I felt the word 'always' did not show up well when it was white so I canged the color to Melon Mambo.

Smitten Alphabet Punch 8x8 pg-002

This second page is my own creation. I started with a background of Island Indigo. I filled the letters with Regal Rose small dotted designer series paper. The Perfect Label punch is also filled with the Regal Rose small dotted designer series paper. Since the width of the letters is so narrow, not many dots showed up.

Now here is a tip: After you fill a punch with designer series paper, double click on the punch. In the window that comes up, there are a couple of small magnifying glasses on the left-hand side. Click on the negative one and you can shrink the scale of the designer series paper print.

I clicked the negative six times until I was satisfied with the number of dots that showed up. If you double click on the picture of the sb page, you will get the full-size picture. Then you will be able to see the dotted pattern better in the letters.

Supplies: My Digital Studio (118108)
Other: Smitten Alphabet Punch (127425)
            Perfect Label Punch (127340)
FreeStyle Script Font size 30 ( on my computer)

Thanks for coming by to visit today. Don't forget to look up the new downloads and order them so you can begin creating with them.

Until next time….blessings,

My Digital Studio Monday – Layers, Layers, Layers

MDS 8-15-11 copy
The challenge for Utah Divas International's My Digital Studio Monday this week is to see how many layers you can use on your digital project. I count about 12 layers on this one. This card also used the weekend sketch from Stamping 411. One of the layers is a really subtle one, Vintage Overlays. I used texture 6 and stamped it in soft suede so it gave my card a rumpled and aged look. I love the new Beau Chateau designer series paper and am so happy that Stampin' Up! came out with a digital version of it. Thanks, Stampin' Up! If you need…and you know you do…any of the downloads I used for this card, just click on the item numbers to take you to my online store.

Supplies:

Stamp Brush Sets: Elements of Style – For You  (123990)
            Vintage Overlay Texture 6 (121061

Other: Square punches filled with Baja Breeze and Crumb Cake color and the Beau Chateau papers
            Victoria Crochet Trim Ribbon (122158)
Baja Breeze 1/4" grosgrain ribbon (118851)

Free Stamps!!!!

Free stamps One of the benefits of having your own papercrafting business is having a wonderful and caring company like Stampin' Up! behind you giving you their support and training. Going to the annual Stampin' Up! convention is an awesome experience in so many ways. Not only do you get excellent business training but you meet so many warm and welcoming fellow demonstrators. But…one of the most exciting parts of convention and being a demonstrator is the opportunity to earn, be given, or win FREE STAMPS!

Between my sales efforts during Sale-a-Bration (thank you all my wonderful customers) and convention, I now have 11 free stamp sets. I am good to go for samples for the whole year! :o) But that won't stop me from ordering more. I gotta keep sharing the possibilities of the new product with you all. :o)

One of the sets we were given for attending our classes is this exclusive business stamp set Workshop Words. I used one of the stamps to create these little tags to put on customer orders. The stamps in this set are so cute and will be so useful in my business.

Workshop Words copyIf you love stamping and scrapbooking like I do and if you are interested in earning extra money through owning your own business, then click on this link to learn more about joining my team of demonstrators and give me a call so we can discuss the possibilities for you. I'd love to have you join me. This job is the best!!!

Hoping to hear from you soon…

Guest Artist – Dorothy Cordes

I love to see what you create using My Digital Studio and from time to time I would love to share your creations here. Just email me a copy of what you create. Today's guest artist is Dorothy Cordes. Dorothy is a relatively new convert to My Digital Studio but she is a fast learner. Look at the simple but elegant card she share with me the other day. BTW…simple and elegant is my favorite style! :o)

My Digital Studio Monday – Christmas in August

New MDS card 8-8-11-001

Christmas in August, you say? Well, why not? Thinking about Christmas and it's snowy weather might help you feel a little cooler. Or….you could come visit me in SE Alaska! We are having a beautiful weekend with sun and a high of about 65 or 70 degrees. Right now at 6 pm it is 60 degrees in the shade.

I used the Holly Berry Bouquet Greeting Card Designer Template digital download shown in the Holiday mini catalog for this card. You should be receiving the new Holiday Mini catalog in the mail in a couple of weeks. If you don't  and want one, drop me an email with your address and phone number and I'd be most happy to send you one. Let me tell you…this one is really awesome!!! Well, Stampin' Up! usually has really awesome Holiday Mini Catalogs but you really won't want to miss this one.

My Digital Studio designer template digital downloads make designing so simple. All I did for this card was to add a ribbon and knot and a couple of rhinestones to flower centers. The card is so beautiful by itself that I just may print it out, add a real-life ribbon and rhinestones, and send them for my Christmas cards this year. However, you can change things around in these templates if you want.

Thanks for coming to visit today. If you like this card, please leave a comment, share it with a friend, and sign up for my newsletter. The sign-up box it to the right.

New Download for 8-2-11-001
Oh boy do I love Tuesdays with the new My Digital Studio downloads from Stampin' Up! This week's downloads include several stamp brush sets with a school theme and a Convention 2011 Designer Template to make a scrapbook of pictures taken at convention. Demonstrators can even download a file of pictures taken by Stampin' Up!'s photographers taken at convention. (One of the benefits of being a demonstrator!) The colors and graphics at convention were so beautiful and now everyone can have them! I designed this card using some of the many, many elements included in the Convention 2011 Designer Template download.
