It’s Monday – It’s My Digital Studio Monday!

  MDS Monday 4-3-11-001_edited-1
Good Monday morning! Here is a card to encourage you as you start the day and the week. When I started out creating this card with My Digital Studio, I had no idea I would be creating a pink and gray card. The creation took on a life of itself and this is what evolved. I like the sophistication of the pink and gray together. My word today for you all is "Go confidantly in the direction of your dreams!" The diagonal shape across the card comes from enlarging the Decorative Label Punch and dragging it off the workspace so just one edge of the punch is in the card. I did this twice with two different sizes of the punch and color-picked the rosy/red color from the Strength and Hope Designer Series Paper pattern #3. To purchase any of the elements in this card, just click on the item number and the link will take you to my online store.

Stamp Brush Set: Word Play – dreams whole (124432)

Background paper: Lap of Luxury Designer Series Paper – pattern 10
                        (123992)
Punches: Decorative Label Punch (123951) filled with Strength and Hope
Designer Series Paper Pattern 3 (124475)

Butterfly shape 2 (124412) filled with Lap of Luxury DSP – pattern
3 with punch moved to bottom left hand corner
Embellishments: Basic Pearls and Rhinestones – medium sized pearls (124330)

I hope you like this card. If you do, would you please share it with others and also leave a comment for me? I'd also be really, really excited if you would visit my FaceBook page and 'like' me.

Happy mouse clicks to you,
Sue Erickson

My Digital Studio Iris

Iris MDS cardI love irises and challenged myself to create one using the digital version of Build a Blossom. I used the color picker to pick the color from the Ice Cream Parlor Strip 2 for the base of the card. The next layer is the square punch stretched and filled with Lap of Luxury Designer Series Paper Pattern 1. The upper petals of the iris are colored with Almost Amethyst and Lovely Lilac while the lower petals are Lovely Lilac and Concord Grape. The fluffy yellow part of an iris was created by shrinking the oval punch and filling it in with Daffodil Delight. I created the stem by stretching and narrowing the square punch and filling it with Always Artichoke. The leaves were created from oval punches and again filled with Always Artichoke. I added the Ice Cream Parlor Strip 2 and placed Ice Cream Parlor Strip 7 over it.

I love the way this card turned out. What do you think? Does it look like an iris? Leave me a comment and let me know.

Today is a beautiful Spring-ish day here in SE Alaska with lots of sun and warmer weather. Maybe we will actually have a Spring this year in the first half of the year. Some years we have Spring in the summer…LOL!

I used papers from the beautiful Botanical Gazette Designer Series Paper for my version of the Stamping 411 sketch. I love the way dry embossing makes the pieced section look like it has been quilted! I also love, love, love the Four Frames Stamp Set which is a promotional sneak peak from the new 2011-2012 catalog to be released July 1. This stamp set will be available April 1. It is so versatile and I have used it several times already.

Thanks for stopping by to visit today. Do come back again soon. I love your company and would love for you to share this post with your friends if you like this card.

I finally have this card finished for my 3-12-11 Stamping 411 challenge. Working on taxes, holding a workshop, and a couple of evening online classes have delayed my posting this card. I used My Digital Studio to create the card. When I saw the three squares, I immediately thought of putting pictures of our dogs into those squares. I hope you like the card.

I Love Being a Stampin’ Up! Demo!

Four Frames_edited-2

One of the benefits of being a demo is that we get to preorder product before it is available for our customers. This allows us to create samples to have ready when the product is available. I am excited to be able to share this card with you. The stamp set is Four Frames which will be available as a sneak peek stamp set from the 2011-2012 catalog in April. I LOVE this set because the frames fit perfectly in our decorative label punch! I have also used several of the designs from the Designer Series Paper Paisley Petals which is also a sneak peek from the 2011-2012 catalog. I love the colors of these papers!

You too, can enjoy the benefit of preordering product to share with your customers as a demonstrator. But there are more benefits than just this:

Blossom Petals Punch and Build a Blossom

Yellow blossom with bow_edited-3

I finally broke down and purchased the Blossom Petals Punch and the coordinating Build a Blossom stamp set. I had thought I had plenty of floral stamp sets in my stash but this set and punch grew on me as I saw all the wonderful cards that have been created with it. I combined just one of the petal and leaf shapes to make the flower. Notice the three little Daffodil Delight pompoms in the center of the flower? What would be more appropriate than bees hovering around such a sweet smelling flower so I used the bee designed sheet of Botanical Gazette Designer Series Paper for the background.

A card must have a greeting…right? So I used the frame from Baby Blossoms stamp set and one of the greetings from the Thanks for Caring stamp set. All these items are found in the Occasions mini catalog. If you don't have one and don't have a close-by demonstrator, shoot me an email with your snail mail address. I'll happily send you one for FREE!  Click on the product links to order from my online store any of these products you need to make this card.

My Digital Studio Monday

MDS Monday 2-7-11-001 Our assignment for Utah Divas International MDS Monday was to use punches on our cards. This was a fun challenge. I used the scallop square punch and stretched it to make a rectangle. However had I stretched it as tall as my card, the side scallops would have been much bigger than the end ones. What I did was to copy the first stretched scallop square and then paste it over itself matching up the scallops. Then I filled them both with a designer series paper that had a pattern that would blend fairly well.

I used two square punches stretched to make rectangles and filled one with Pear Pizzazz color, the other with Very Vanilla. The butterflies are resized butterfly punches filled with Very Vanilla. Basic rhinestones add sparkle to the butterflies.

If you don't already have a demonstrator and would like to order these MDS downloads, just click on the item numbers to order them through my online store.
