Terrific Tuesday – Witches’ Brew Designer Series Paper

Witches' Brew Designer Series Paper

Today’s new MDS digital downloads include a lot of Halloween themed downloads. I have this Witches’ Brew Designer Series Paper in the traditional form and am excited that it is now available in digital form. I used one of the designs for the background of this photo of my two darling great-granddaughters last Halloween. Emery, the younger one was so delighted with her elephant costume that she made elephant noises at every house they visited. In the lower left corner of the dsp is a skull. That just doesn’t match the sweet faces of the kids so I used the Freeform Paint Brush feature of MDS and the color picker to paint out the skull. Then I added the Greeting Card Kids stamp in Very Vanilla. I added the Word Window punch with an opacity of 50% behind the kids’ names so they would show up better. Go here to see the new downloads and place your order. You can also order the supplies I used for this scrapbook page by clicking on their linked names.

Supplies:

MDS software digital download (130646), MDS software disc (130647), or 30-day Free Trial of MDS (130910)

The Road Trip Begins…Sort Of

Fifty Nifty Digital Kit

Well the road trip has unofficially started. I say unofficially because this leg of the trip from Craig, Alaska, to Idaho and Salt Lake City for the Stampin’ Up! convention has been taken for the last 3 or 4 years.

I created this scrapbook page for the MDS Monday Challenge 21. We were to insert one picture into several photo frames. I love doing this technique as it gives added interest to a photo. The day we got on the ferry was a beautiful, sunny day, a rare thing for SE Alaska! The next day was misty and overcast. I thought the layers of fog against the mountains on either side of the Inside Passage were beautiful and had to have a picture. I used the Fifty Nifty Kit for this page. I will be using this digital kit and its state punches and stamps a lot on this trip! Order your copy of the download here. The background is one of the designer series papers from the Spring to Life Kit.

Supplies:

MDS software digital download (130646), MDS software disc (130647), or 30-day Free Trial of MDS (130910)

Terrific Tuesday – Convention 2013 Photobook Template

Convention 2013 Photobook Template Convention 2013 Photobook Template

I hope you all had a wonderful, safe Memorial Day weekend. I participated in the Prince of Wales Annual Marathon by walking a two mile leg with the Klawalkers, a 15 person team ranging in age from 18 to 83. The weather was perfect and it was fun! I’ll scrap some pictures later this week.

Today is Terrific Tuesday and we have some terrific downloads for you to enjoy. You will definitely want to go check them out and order a couple here. I love the convention photo books because they have so many wonderful elements included in the kits. I choose this pattern of the Convention 2013 Photobook Template because it goes perfectly with our granddaughter’s prom dress. That is all I used for these two scrapbook pages. I just added text and the photos for a beautiful way to highlight these photos. This is a very easy layout for a newbie at digital scrapbooking. If you haven’t taken the plunge yet, go ahead and do it. The MDS software is availble in a disc but why wait? Order the digital version, they are both only $19.95, and start enjoying creativitiy in a new exciting way!

Veteran’s Day 2012

Veteran's Day 2012-001

Welcome to The Soggy Stamper this Veteran's Day 2012. In honor and appreciation of all the veterans and military serving our country, I created this 12 x 12 page scrapbook page using MDS2. I didn't use any special stamps or backgrounds other than the Night of Navy card stock. The flag picture is one I got from the Chicago Tribune photogallery and filled into the 1.25 square punch. The men in the photos are Ron's father Norris Erickson who served in the Army during WW1, his brother Ed Erickson who flew planes for the Marines in WWII, our son-in-law Joseph Johnson who served active duty in the Air Force and now works in the Air National Guard, our grandson Brandon Johnson who is in the Air National Guard, and our grandson Nathaniel Johnson who is on active duty with the Army in Germany.

Our country owes a big debt to all those who have served in our military and continue to do so to protect our freedoms. Grateful thanks to them and their families for their sacrifices.

Thanks for stopping by today. Do come back tomorrow for Terrific Tuesday and see what great downloads, Stampin' Up! has for us.

Until next time…blessings,
Sue

My Digital Studio Monday – Spooky Halloween Scrapbook Page

Ripped paper option sb page-001 copy
Supplies: MDS2+ (130646), MDS2 (130644), MDS2 upgrade (130650), or 30-day FREE trial of MDS2 (130910); Vintage Overlay stamp brush set (121061); Wicked Cool – spooky stamp brush set from Wicked Fun Designer Kit (127609); Spooky Bingo Bits – spider web stamp brush set (127616); 1.25 Square Punch comes with MDS2 and Punch Shapes (118853)

Sorry I have been lax in posting to my blog the last few days. I am back! I learned on www.mydigitalstudio.net that MDS2 now has a Rip Photo Edges feature that is so cool.

You have to add your designer series paper as a page layer or add a photo frame from the Design Center and drag the dsp into the photo frame. If you add it to the photo frame, you can resize the photo frame without possible pixilation of the dsp. When the dsp is added as a page layer, you will get the pixilation warning if you try to enlarge the frame. Whether you add the dsp as a page layer or in a photo frame, double click on the frame and you will find the Rip Photo Edges feature about half-way down. Clicking on this opens a Rip Photo window. You can click on the boxes to select which side to rip…I did all 4…and you can choose the rip width. I used a width of 50. Then I played with changing the dimensions of the square until I got a torn shape I liked. The resulting piece reminded me of the little pieces of paper you tear when you are doing paper machet.

Let's just say that I had a ripping good time creating this scrapbook page. Since I don't dress up for Halloween and since our grandkids don't send pictures of themselves at Halloween, I didn't add a picture. Or maybe I was the incredible invisible woman last Halloween and you just can't see the picture…LOL!

If you haven't ordered the Wicked Fun Digital Kit and the Spooky Bingo Bits stamp brush set yet, just click on their names in the supply list to be taken directly to those items in my demonstrator online store or visit my store by clicking here. I have really gotten a lot of use from these sets and they will never retire!

Thanks for coming by to visit today. Tomorrow is Terrific Tuesday so come back to see what I do with some of the new downloads.

Until next time…blessings,

9/11 Remembered

Remembring...9-11-001
Where were you when you first heard about the attack on the Twin Towers? I'm sure you remember vividly. The most unceivable thing had just happened and we were all stunned and shocked! Eleven years have gone by and the memories begin to fade. On this memorial the names of the people who died that day and in the days after are cut out of the metal surrounding these pools. You can see the waterfalls through the letters and at night the lights shine up through the names.

Today, let's take some time to remember all those ordinary people going about their ordinary day whose deaths have left a great hole in the fabric of our society. Let's take time to give thanks to all the self-less rescuers who gave their lives or are now dealing with health issues resulting from their efforts.

I used the following supplies to create this scrapbook page: MDS2+ (130646), MDS2 (130644), MDS2 upgrade (130650), or 30-day FREE trial of MDS2 (130910); Vintage Overlay Stamp Brush Set – texture 12 (121061). I got the photo from the 9/11 Memorial web page and used Lucinda Calligraphy and Arial fonts for the text. I was surprised how subtle the Vintage Overlay was. Maybe it is because I usually use it on cards and shrink it down more to fit.

Today is also Terrific Tuesday and we get new MDS2 downloads for our creating pleasure. Click here to see them.

Thanks for coming to visit my blog today. I am going to post daily so keep checking to see what I have for you.

Until next time…blessings,
Sue

My Digital Studio Monday – Color Me Creative

MDS Monday 7-23-12-001 copy
Supplies: MDS2 (download available Aug 1) Color Me Creative stamp brush set (from Color Me Creative Convention DVD)

At the Stampin' Up! convention this past week, I took the 'I Am Digital' optional class Wednesday night. In the process of installing a 30-day trial DVD of MDS2 and the Color Me Creative Convention DVD, I lost access to my regular MDS software. So…I had to use the new MDS2 to create this scrapbook page…oh darn!!! :o) I love the Color Me Creative stamp brush set because of the quotes. The big photo is one of the photos used as wallpaper on the big screens in the main stage room. I love the feelings exhibited in those photos. The smaller photos give you a small glimpse of some of the wonderful projects displayed for our inspiration.

I had a wonderful time at convention and would love to have you come with me next year. How can you do that, you ask? By joining my team of Stampin' Up! business owners. If you have been frustrated by having your work hours set for you or by the struggle of balancing work with family responsibilities, owning your own business may be the answer. The feeling of being your own boss and being able to set your own hours and goals is quite powerful and freeing. Contact me so we can discuss how your needs can be met with a Stampin' Up! business.

Until next time…blessings,

Welcome to The Soggy Stamper. Our theme for today was 'pet love'. What an easy theme for me! I love taking pictures of our dachhunds as they are so entertaining. Even when they are sleeping, they entertain us…LOL! I wanted texture to the gumball green background so I added the Hip and Handsome Overlay. However, I wanted it to be subtle so I changed the color to Gumball Green and all you see it the drop shadow.

Did you notice that June 1st we got a lot of new digital downloads along with the new catalog? I wanted to post about it on Saturday but just didn't quite get it done. Welcome to The Soggy Stamper's Terrific Tuesday. You never know what will spark your creativity. When I saw the Hexagon Punch in today's new downloads, I was totally underwhelmed with it and wasn't going to purchase that download. Then I read Kimberly Morris's comment on the LateNightStampersDemoOnly group about the possibilities of the punch and filling it with all our wonderful designer series papers…hmmm! So here is the result of that comment for me. I definitely had no clue this morning that I'd end up with this wonderful scrapbook page of my oldest granddaughter so suddenly grownup!

Have you had a similar experience where a project just took over its own creation? If so, I'd love to hear your story. Please post it in the comments. Click here to check out and purchase the new downloads released today.

My Digital Studio Monday – Snowflakes

Snowflake sb page-001 copy
My Digital Studio (118108), Circle Punch from Punch Shapes (118853), Snowflake Trimmings Punch (128882), Snowflake Punch from Punch Shapes

Oh, how I wish I were seeing snowflakes again!!! The winds and rains have washed away all vestiges of last week's snow. We are back to the dark, gloomy, rainy days of December. So I guess I will have to create my own snowflakes. I was delighted when Stampin' Up! released the Snowflake Trimmings Punch download and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them. Originally I filled the whole snowflake with the photo but it was too busy and you couldn't really get a sense of the photo. So I filled a circle punch with the photos and put them in the center of the snowflake. Now I have a different idea of filling the snowflake with a scenic photo. I'll share that with you later.

As always, you can purchase the supplies for this scrapbook page by clicking on the names of the items or visiting my online store by clicking here. If you don't already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I'd love to be your demonstrator,

I love gently falling snow. Snow covers all the ground with a glistening blanket of white softening harsh edges and hiding all kinds of junk. To me, Christmas and snow go together so I was really in the Christmas spirit last week.

Now it is your turn to share. What puts you in the Christmas or Chanukah spirit the quickest? Share your response by posting below.

Until tomorrow…Blessings and Happy Holidays,

Sue

My Digital Studio Monday – The End of a Perfect Day

The end of a perfect day-001

Here in SE Alaska, the fall colors have already disappeared but God offers us glorious fall colors in our sunsets. This sunset occurred in January. When we were given the color challenge of Early Espresso, Pumpkin Pie, and Daffodil Yellow, I was in a little quandry as I don't have the typical Fall pictures. Then I remember all the beautiful colors of our sunsets and knew exactly what image would be my focal point of this 8" x 8" scrapbook page. Since the photo says it all, I just added three strips of ribbon and a frame around the journaling. I created the frame by layering an Early Espresso-filled Merry Medallion punch over one filled with daffodil yellow. I first tried a pumpkin pie-filled punch and a daffodil yellow-filled punch but the colors were too strong. I really love the thin daffodil yellow border which mimics the daffodil yellow mat around the photo. The beauty of the forests, water, and sunsets of SE Alaska more than make up for the isolation and the 130+ inches of precipitation we get every year.

Supplies:
My Digital Studio (118108)
Merry Medallion Punch from the Merry Medallion Photocard Template (127569)
Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Yellow grosgrain ribbon – 1/4" Ribbon in Basic Colors (118851)

My Digital Studio Monday – Button, Button

Button Button-001

Our theme for this My Digital Studio Monday was to pile on the buttons. I just had to use a picture of a great-granddaughter who is 'cute as a button". :o) I discovered that over the last couple years that I have owned My Digital Studio, I have downloaded at least four button files so I used several of them on this scrapbook page.

Supplies:

My Digital Studio (118108)
Christmas Cheer Designer Series Paper #4 from Christmas Cheer Digital Kit download (123596)
Simple Letters Alphabet Punch (1271660 filled with Christmas Cheer Designer Series Paper #1
Candy Cane Designer Buttons (123960)

My Digital Studio Monday – Baby in Moon page

Baby Page-001

Our theme on Utah Divas International this week is a baby card or page. I got this idea of putting a baby photo into a moon punch. Moon punch you ask? I didn't know there was a moon punch in My Digital Studio. Well, you are right. I took the solid moon stamp from Nursery Necessities and transformed it into a punch using the Inkscape program. Then I filled the punch with a photo of our great-granddaughter. The star is also a punch filled with Rock-a-bye Designer Series paper – So Saffron Large Polka-dot. There is a discussion thread on mydigitalstudio.net about how to convert a stamp into a punch. Click here for the link. By the way, if you haven't visited mydigitalstudio.net yet, you are missing out on a wealth of information.

Thanks for coming by to visit today. If you try your hand at creating your own punches, I'd love for you to send me a copy of your creation and I'll share it on this blog. Do come back tomorrow to see the new downloads Stampin' Up! releases this week.

Until your next visit…..blessings,
