The Best Christmas Gift!

Best Christmas Gift-001
Supplies: MDS2+ (130646), MDS2 (130644), MDS2 upgrade (130650), or 30-day FREE trial of MDS2 (130910); Background – Card Stock/Rich Razzleberry; EmbellishmentsFan Fair Photobook Template (127202) – embellishments/stitching black corner 6 (re-colored); Punches – 1.25 Square Punch, filled with: Holiday Wrap Designer Series Paper – 4 from the Holiday Wrap Digital Kit (132820), 1.25 Circle Punch, Fill Color = WHISPER WHITE

This picture is priceless and I just had to scrap it. Nathaniel and his family surprised us by arriving home from Germany on Dec. 26th instead of January 8th lwhen we were led to believe they would be home. Our great-granddaughter who lives with her mother in Anacortes was told she and her mother were going to the airport to pick a package. She was so surprised to find out the 'package' was actually her Daddy and her sisters.

I used the designer series paper from the Holiday Wrap Digital Kit. I love this set of designer papers and felt the 'joy' theme of this particular paper was so appropriate. The digital kit includes punches to fill with designer series paper, print out and create bows. Although the title indicates they are designed for a specific holiday, the punches can be filled with any designer series paper or card stock. You now have a wealth of exclusive bows at your fingertips. It took a little fiddling and adjusting to get the bow to print out double-sided properly but it was worth the effort. I highly recommend you purchase this download!

Have you set a New Year's goal to take charge of your finances instead of them dictating to you?

Well…now is a good time to do so! You can start earning money with your own paper crafting business this month by joining my team of Stampin' Up! demonstrators. You don't have to be particularly crafty because there are lots of people willing to give you creative ideas. You don't have to have lots of money to start your business as our starter kit is just $99. You don't have to know how to hold a workshop or advertise or run a business before you start. I'll teach you what I know and direct you to additional sources of guidance. But…to earn money in this business, you do have to be able to discipline yourself to consistently work the business for whatever specific amount of time each week you choose to work and to carefully monitor your business expenses. Sale-a-bration is a good time to start your business because customers traditionally purchase more to get the free product in the Sale-a-bration brochure.

Joining my team is easy. Click here to learn more about the opportunity. Click 'Join Now" to join. You will need to have your credit card handy. Give me a call or email me if you have questions. I'm looking forward to working with you!

Happy New Year!

New Year card-001
Supplies: MDS2+ (130646), MDS2 (130644), MDS2 upgrade (130650), or 30-day FREE trial of MDS2 (130910); StampsOh What Fun Overlays (123568) – new year, Color = VERY VANILLA; Punches – 1.25 Square Punch, Candlelight Christmas – oval from Candlelight Christmas Ensemble (1283135), Freehand Frames – triangle from Freehand Frames Overlays Stamp Brush Set (132559)

Happy New Year! I pray that this coming year is filled with good things and happy memories for you all and plenty of digital creating. I could not find a stamp brush set that had wine glasses in it or champagne glasses so created these by using the oval punch, a square punch for the stem and the triangle punch reshaped for the top of the goblet. Now that I think about it, I realize that champagne wouldn't be drunk from this shape goblet but you get the idea anyway. Cheers!!!

Today is also Terrific Tuesday because, even on New Year's Day, Stampin' Up! has given us new downloads. One of them is even a free calendar for our desktops! Thank you Stampin' Up! Click here to view these downloads and order the ones you like. Come back tomorrow to see what I create with the ones I order. If you haven't tried MDS yet, give it a try by ordering the free 30-day trial of MDS2. Some of the advantages to digital creating are:

  • No need for storage space for your stamps and supplies other than your computer
  • Digital downloads don't retire, wear out, get lost and rarely get damaged. If they do, you can download them again at no additional cost.
  • There is no time wasted getting out supplies and cleaning up afterwards.
  • Your photos are most likely residing on your computer already.
  • If you like the tactile sensation of handling paper and supplies, you can print out your creations and mount them on card stock. Then you can add embelishments to create a hybrid card or scrapbook page.

I love helping people get started with MDS so don't hesitate to give it a try. I am here to help with your questions.

Until next time…blessings,
Sue

Only 3 Days Left!

Petite Pocket Gift Card HoldersThat is…3 days left to order from the Holiday Mini Catalog! Some items in the catalog are being carried forward into the Spring catalog and are listed on page 36 of that catalog. However, the Snowflake Flurry Bigz Die is not one of those items. I'm hoping it will appear in the new 2013-2014 big catalog as I really love it. But don't take your chances! If you don't already own the die, order it today while it is still available.

Here are three gift card holders I made using the Snowflake Flurry Bigz Die (127813), Silver Glimmer Paper (124005) and Snow Festival Designer Series Paper (126908). I used the Petite Pocket Bigz Die (123131) as the starting point of the holder. The gift cards were too big to fit in the pocket so I altered them by folding the dsp in half lengthwise and placing the fold just inside the right-hand side of the die. I also wanted the pocket to be taller so I folded the dsp down at the top and put that fold just under the top edge of the die. I know I haven't explained this very well. I'm thinking I should make a video showing how to do this. I'll post the video when I get it done.

There are lots of wonderful items that are being carried over in the Spring catalog but some of my favorites like the Candlelight Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper (126901), Snow Festival Designer Series Paper (126908) and the Scentsational Season stamp set bundled with it's corresponding Holiday Collection Framelits (w-129945, c-129946) will not be available after Jan 2. Place your order now so you don't miss out! Either click on the linked name of the item or visit my online demo store.

Thanks for being a faithful reader of this blog during 2012. I look forward to sharing more ideas with you in 2013. May the new year bring you fresh blessings in abundance each day.

Until next time…blessings,
Sue

Merry Christmas – Come to Bethlehem

Christmas Day card 2012-001
Supplies: MDS2+ (130646), MDS2 (130644), MDS2 upgrade (130650), or 30-day FREE trial of MDS2 (130910); Background – Night of Navy card stock; stamp set – Come to Bethlehem (123963), punches – curvy square punch from Convention 2012 Photobook Template (130971) filled with Night of Navy color, 1.25" square punch (comes with MDS2) gold Glimmer Designer Series Paper (132917)

Our big Christmas celebration will be on the 27th when all the grandkids and great-grandkids can be here so this morning has been very laid back. After opening our stocking gift and the adult gifts, I have time to play with My Digital Studio. I love that it is sooooo easy to carry with me on vacation! I have created this card to remind us,amidst all the wrappings and presents on the floor, that Jesus is the reason we celebrate. I hope you all will take a little time spent in adoring Him.

Until next time…Christmas blessings,

Glimmery Christmas Card

Champagne Glimmer card-001
Supplies: MDS2+ (130646), MDS2 (130644), MDS2 upgrade (130650), or 30-day FREE trial of MDS2 (130910); background – Whisper White card stock; Paper – Gold Glimmer Designer Series Paper (132917); Punches – 1 1/4" square (comes with MDS2), Merry Woodcuts from Merry Woodcuts Digital Kit (132617), Medallion (created by me)

Tuesday's downloads were really terrific! Check them out here. I was especially excited by the glimmer paper in gold, red, and silver. A fellow demo on one of my yahoo groups had made a Christmas card traditionally with Champagne Glimmer Paper and Whisper White card stock. I love that combination and absolutely HAD to create a similar one digitally. I created the medallion punch from the medallion stamp brush set (118124) when it was a png file using this procedure: mydigitalstudio.net/forum/topics/tutorial-for-creating-punches-from-mds-stamps. Part of the discussion in this post pointed out that you can just copy and paste a svg stamp set into your punches file in MDS2. The medallion stamp set is now a .svg file which will be much easier to do than the way I did it. I checked out the new way using the tree from the Bright Hopes stamp brush set (127764). The card below is the results of my experiment.

Champagne Glimmer card-002
It is so easy to convert stamps to punches now as long as they are .svg stamps (the ones that come with MDS2+ and all downloads since the introduction of MDS2). I tried to use the Dasher stamp brush set but it isn't a .svg file.

I like both of these cards. Which do you like best? If you decide to use a stamp brush set as a punch, I'd love to see what you create. Just email me your card or scrapbook page and I'll share it here.

Until next time…Christmas blessings,

Sue

Christmas Is A Coming!

Trees on door

Tree Ornaments on Door

3-d Christmas tree ornament

Close-up of Tree

Last week during Stampin' Up!'s Online Extravaganza, I offered a gift with purchase of a handmade ornament. These are the ornaments I am sending to those who placed an order. I received one similar to this in a swap at convention this summer. There was no name on the ornament or else I lost the tag with the name. If this was your swap, let me know and I will give you the credit. I cut out three circles from the Candlelight Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper (126901) using the retired Clear Circle Bigz Die, the 3" Circle Bigz die (122125), and the 2" and 1" circles from the Circles #2 Originals Die (114526). The circles are folded to create the shape and fitted together. I cut two stars from Silver Glimmer paper (124005) using the star framelit from the Holiday Collection Framelits Die (127814). The garland is cut from the Silver Glimmer paper using the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch (118874) and I punched the ornaments from Red Glimmer Paper (121790) and Champagne Glimmer Paper (127885) using my retired 1/4" punch. I used 1/8" Real Red Taffeta ribbon (119251) for a hanging loop.

These were such fun to make and may make more. They would be fun to include with our annual Christmas letters.

If you need any of the supplies I used to make these little trees for yourself, just visit my online store or click on the linked names.

Until next time…blessings and happy Christmas creating,

Gratitude Frameable Wall Art

Thanksgiving SB page-001
Supplies: MDS2+ (130646), MDS2 (130644), MDS2 upgrade (130650), or 30-day FREE trial of MDS2 (130910);background – Cherry Cobbler card stock; punches – 1.25" square (comes with MDS2)filled with pattern 2 of (131220) Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper, (129924) Get It Done Digital Kit – punch 2; stamp – Basic Black Texture which comes with the original MDS disc

Welcome to My Digital Craft Corner this day after Thanksgiving. Have you already been out capturing those great Black Friday specials? Then it is time to sit back with a cup of hot cocoa, coffee or tea and browse my projects.

Inspiration comes to me from a lot of sources. Today, I read this quote on www.mydigitalstudio.net and immediately knew I needed to create a piece of frameable wall art for the quote. Since it refers to a present and since Christmas is coming up way faster than I am ready for it, I decided to use this Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper for the background of the project. I used the Get It Done – 2 punch to frame the quote as it looks elegant to match the dsp. I typed the quote with the Apple Chauncery font and size 40. I usually add a slightly larger second punch behind the first one to make a border. This time I noticed that there is an option to add a mat to the punch which saves a lot of fussing! I don't know why I haven't noticed that before now.

Before I close, I want to remind you of a couple of things. First, MDS2 and MDS2+ are 50% off through Nov 28. If you haven't purchased this yet, click here to do so! As part of the Online Extravaganza, I am making a Christmas ornament for everyone who places an online order Nov 19 – Nov 28.

The second thing is that the DVD version of MDS2 will be available for purchase beginning Nov 29.

Until next time…blessings,

Happy Thanksgiving

Grateful Heart Thanksgiving card 2012-001
Supplies: MDS2+ (130646), MDS2 (130644), MDS2 upgrade (130650), or 30-day FREE trial of MDS2 (130910); Background- crumb cake; Stamps – (comes with MDS disc) Basic Black Texture, (127620) Grateful Heart Thanksgiving Ensemble – family & friends, branch, berries, border 1; embellishment – (131329) Timeless Taffeta TrimmingsReal Red long bow cropped and recolored with Pumpkin Pie

On Saturday night I fried my computer so I haven't been able to post for a while. Yesterday the tech person at school was able to miraculously resurrect the computer so I am good to go again. I hope you have had a great Thanksgiving with family and friends. We went over to a friend's home for dinner and now are feeling the effects of over-eating and the tryptophane in the turkey is making us struggle to stay awake. Nap time except it is 6:30 pm, much to early to go to bed and too late for a nap.

I created this card for you using many elements from the GratefulHearts Thanksgiving Ensemble. The Happy Thanksgiving is in two text boxes using the Handwriting – Dakota font, size 36. I added the bow at the top and recolored it with Pumpkin Pie and cropped off one of the ends slightly. I love that we can do these things with the new MDS2+ program.

Before I close, let me remind you of Stampin' Up!'s Online Extravaganza. There are bargains to be found of up to 50% off. This is the perfect time to find a great gift for your stamping friends. Check out the specials in my online store. Place an order through Nov 28 to not only save money but also receive a hand-made ornament from me.

Until next time…blessings,
Sue

Stampin’ Up!’s Keeping Me Hopping!

Stampin' Up! is rocking and rolling this month with all kinds of specials and new products! First for the new products. 4000 of this darling Texture Boutique embossing machine are being offered as a test market. This does not do die cuts but might do the Framelits and definitely does a great job of dry embossing card stock. It is light, portable, and it's footprint is smaller than the Big Shot so it will fit on your stamping table perfectly. It's price point is perfect at $39.95. Click this link for more information Download Textured Boutique flyer. Since there are only 4000 and it is while quantities last, rush over to my online store and get your's while you can. The bundle is #132700 or you can purchase just the machine for $29.95, #132657.

Textured Boutique Embossing Machine

The other new item is Talking Tags. This is even cooler than ice cream! Remember the recordable cards you could buy at Hallmark and the blank ones you can buy in the 2012-2013 catalog? They are a little bulky to mail and take extra postage. Now you can buy the Talking Tags and record a 60 sec message on them. You peel the label off, put it in your card or on a scrapbook page and then record your message using a free app for your i-phone or android phone. The directions for listening to the message are on the label so your recipient can listen to what you have said. The recording will last for up to 2 years and can be listened to over and over again. Imagine…no more hand writing out journaling to explain a photo! They are available to order now. The price is $7.95 for 10 labels and the item number is 129723. Here is a link to a larger copy of the flyer Download TalkingTags_Flyer_NA

Finally, for those of you who feel  MDS2 or MDS2+ are too expensive for your budget, next week during the Online Extravaganza, these will be 50% off! Now is your chance to get in on the digital designing fun! Remember, I am always ready to help you with any questions you have.

Until next time…have a great weekend and blessings,
