A Beautiful Use of Designer Series Paper on a Card

Today I learned a beautiful way to show both sides of a designer series paper in a quick and easy card. Many thanks to Patty Bennett for giving a link to Jo Anne Hewins blog post that shows how to make this card.

If you are like me, you love our designer series paper and am reluctant to cut it up. Consequently we end up with lots of paper left over when a new catalog comes out and we turn our attention to the new papers. But this beautiful card uses up the leftover paper. It is a fancy fold that is as quick to make as a simple card.

Directions To Make this Card

SUPPLIES
Stamps: Painted Seasons bundled with Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper (149722) and Part of My Story (149719) SAB stamps
Ink: Powder Pink Classic Stampin’ Pad(147147), Pear Pizzazz (147104), and Mossy Meadow (147111)
Paper:
Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper (146913)cut 5 1.4″ x 11 1/2″ and scored at 4″, 6 3/4″, 9 1/2″
Pear Pizzazz Cardstock (131201) cut at 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″, and a scrap to cut with the 5th in Rectangle Stitched die
Very Vanilla Cardstock (101650) cut with the 6th in Rectangle Stitched die
Whisper White Cardstock (100730) cut with the 5th in Rectangle Stitched die and scrap to stamp flower and leaf on
Petal Pink Cardstock (147108) cut with the 6th in Rectangle Stitched die
Accessories:
Big Shot (143263)
Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies (148551)
Four Seasons Framelits Dies (150074)

Make a valley fold at the 4″ score line on the dsp, a Mountain fold at the 6 3/4″ score line, and a Valley fold at the 9 1/2″ score line. Adhere the large section of the dsp to the card base. Stamp and cut out the leaf and flower and adhere to the Very Vanilla piece of cardstock. Adhere this to the Pear Pizzazz rectangle and then adhere the rectangle to the front flap of the dsp.
Stamp a sentiment on the Petal Pink rectangle in portrait orientation and adhere it to the next flap. Finally stamp a sentiment to the Whisper White rectangle and adhere it to the card base.

Now that you know how to show off some of that designer series paper you have been hoarding, create a card and send me a picture of it. I’ll show it off on this blog.
