Veteran’s Day 2012

Veteran's Day 2012-001

Welcome to The Soggy Stamper this Veteran's Day 2012. In honor and appreciation of all the veterans and military serving our country, I created this 12 x 12 page scrapbook page using MDS2. I didn't use any special stamps or backgrounds other than the Night of Navy card stock. The flag picture is one I got from the Chicago Tribune photogallery and filled into the 1.25 square punch. The men in the photos are Ron's father Norris Erickson who served in the Army during WW1, his brother Ed Erickson who flew planes for the Marines in WWII, our son-in-law Joseph Johnson who served active duty in the Air Force and now works in the Air National Guard, our grandson Brandon Johnson who is in the Air National Guard, and our grandson Nathaniel Johnson who is on active duty with the Army in Germany.

Our country owes a big debt to all those who have served in our military and continue to do so to protect our freedoms. Grateful thanks to them and their families for their sacrifices.

Thanks for stopping by today. Do come back tomorrow for Terrific Tuesday and see what great downloads, Stampin' Up! has for us.

Until next time…blessings,
Sue

Snow Flurry Ornament

Snow Flurry ornament

Supplies: Snowflake Flurry Bigz Die (127813), Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (113439), Floral Frames Framelits Dies (127012), Linen Thread (104199), Midnight Muse 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon (126847), Silver Glimmer Paper (124005)

Welcome to The Soggy Stamper blog this Saturday afternoon. I made this ornament a few days ago based on an ornament Kirsteen Gill shared at least a month ago. I changed out her Whisper White frame for a Midnight Muse one. I didn't use as many pieces as others have used as I was mostly experimenting with the pattern. One thing I learned is that Two-Way glue does not work for the Glimmer paper! I resorted to using glue dots but wonder if the Green-topped Multipurpose glue would have worked better. I'm thinking of making a similar one with the Maple leaf from the Autumn Accents die and the Champagne Glimmer paper. I'll post a picture of it when I do get it made.

Thanks for coming to visit today. There are only five weeks left of my gift of the 12 Weeks of Christmas I have given my newsletter subscribers. Each Wednesday for 12 weeks I am sending an email to them with an exclusive project. While you have missed out on the first 6 projects, it isn't too late to get in on the rest. Subscribe now by filling in the box to the right. Be sure to respond to the email I will send confirming your subscription.

Until next time…blessing and happy stamping,

Enjoying Everyting Kit Again

Enjoying Everything scrapbook page

Supplies: MDS2+ (130646), MDS2 (130644), MDS2 upgrade (130650), or 30-day FREE trial of MDS2 (130910); Enjoying Everything Kit (132557); Tasteful Trim Shape 2 Punch (123997); Medium, Small, and Tall Heart Punch from Punch Shapes (118853) also comes with MDS2 and the original MDS software; Basic Pearls and Rhinestones (124330)

In this post, I shared a card I created using the beautiful free download Enjoying Everything Digital Kit. I used the digital kit again to make this scrapbook page featuring our youngest great-granddaughter with the most hilarious face. Her picture makes me smile every time I look at it. I used several of the new features in MDS2. First I used the color picker to recolor the Enjoying Everything Designer Series Paper, embellishments, text, and to fill the Tasteful Trim Shape 2 Punches with colors from the photo. It's wonderful to be able to customize everything to your photo! I also used the ability to attach text to a shaped line with the title.

Thanks for coming by today to visit My Digital Craft Corner. I hope you will grab a cup of coffee or tea and take some time to browse through the project I have shared with you. If you like what you see, subscribe to my newsletter by filling out the box on the right and by going to my Facebook page www.facebook.com/mydigitalcraftcorner and 'liking' it.

Versatility of MDS2

Daydream Medallions card-001
Supplies: MDS software, Papers – Card Stock/Real Red, Well Worn Desiger Series Paper – 8 and 10; Embellishments – Blossom Builders Embellishments (129609)/Rhinestones – 2mm Poppy Parade, Timeless Taffeta Trimmings (131329) – large bow real red (re-colored Cherry Cobbler), Basic Pearls and Rhinestones (124330) – rhinestone small (re-colored black); Stamps – Basic Black Texture (came with MDS DVD), Daydream Medallions (130854) – doily 1 and 2, A Cardinal Christmas – merry christmas; PunchesLabels Collection 2, 1.25 Circle Punch, Extra-Large Two Step Bird Punch (122131)

MDS2 is so versatile that you can very often create a digital version of a traditional card that is so realistic that you have to touch it to realize that it is a digital card. Yesterday I posted two cards, one traditional and a copy that was digital. You can see the comparison of the two here. I have so much fun playing with MDS2 and challenging myself to do things digitally that I would do traditionally. If you haven't tried MDS2 yet, what are you waiting for? I know some people love getting their hands inky and sticky with glue and love having a cluttered work space…I know you…because I am one of them.

However, I also love digital crafting because I can leave that messy workspace behind and have everything I need and more right at my fingertips. If I need a particular stamp brush which I don't have, all I have to do is go online to place my order for it. In a few minutes I have downloaded and am ready to use it. I don't have to waith for it to come by mail. When I am finished with a project, there is no cleaning up necessary. Perfect!

So click here to give MDS2 a free 30-day trial. You can order downloads from me during the 30 days and you can send off projects to be printed during this time. If you find you love MDS2, you can then purchase it and all your projects you have created will be transferred over to the purchased program automatically. You just need to be sure to order the purchased program before the 30 days actually end to save the work you have done. Click here to get the free trial. I'm always ready to help you get started.

Until next time…blessings,
Sue

Daydream Medallions Wreath

Daydream Medallions Wreath     Daydream Medallions card-001

I am so excited to share this card I sort of CASEd from Margaret Raburn! The first image is the traditional version of the card. I changed out her card by adding the Oval Accent Bigz diecut and actually cutting out the wreath with the Floral Frames Framelits. I also changed the card base from Whisper White to Cherry Cobbler, my favorite red color.

Then I challenged myself to create the same card using MDS2+. The second image is the digital version. I think I did an excellent job. In the traditional card, I embossed the ovall accents diecut with the Woodgrain embossing folder, punched out the bird and embossed it with the Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder. Then I added a Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon. On the digital version, I filled the Labels Collection punch with the woodgrain design from the Well Worn Designer Series Paper. I added the texture stamp on the Cherry Cobbler background to give depth to the card and I used the Timeless Taffeta Trimmings Real Red large bow which I recolored Cherry Cobbler. The traditional card has Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details for the holly berries and I used Blossom Builders Poppy Parade rhinestones for the berries on the digital version. To order the supplies for either of these cards, visit my online store or click on the links in the supply lists.

Procrastinator’s Birthday Card

Jayne's BD card-001
Happy Saturday evening! Why should this be a happy in particular, you ask? First, we get to sleep an additional hour tonight. Daylight Savings ends at 2 a.m. in the morning. Asls, today is National Digital Scrapbooking Day. But most importantly, this is our granddaughter-in-law's birthday. Now, if I weren't such a skilled procrastinator, I would have hand-stamped a card for her and mailed it off the first of the week. However, I didn't find out until Thursday that her birthday is today. What is a procrastinator like me to do??? Well…MDS2 to the rescue! You create a digital card and e-mail it to her or even better, attach it to a Facebook wall post. There…good deed done! However, if you are like me, you don't make it quite that easy. No, no! You decide to use the freeform coloring brush to color in the letters in "Birthday". About 45 minutes later, the card was finally finished. I hope she liked it. MDS2 is perfect for last-minute card makers like me.

Don't forget to download the 3 Free downloads Stampin' Up! is giving us as part of their week-long celebration of National Digital Scrapbooking Day. When we were last told of the total downloads of each of the downloads, we needed 11,700 additional downloads of each to get a 4th free download. I don't know what the totals are now but you have until Nov 5th to take advantage of this offer. If you don't have MDS2 yet, give the Free 30-day trial a whirl by clicking here.

Thanks for coming by to visit me in My Digital Craft Corner. Grab a cup or tea to enjoy while you browse through my projects. If you like what you see, please go to my Facebook page at http://facebook.com/mydigitalcraftcorner and 'like' me. Please also sign up for my News from My Digital Craft Corner news letter by filling in the box to the right. The November edition will be coming out next week.

MDSDWNLDAFREEHANDFRAMESSTAMPBRUSHSET
This beautiful Freehand Frames Overlays stamp brush set is the 4th free download we can earn IF…about 11,700 downloads of each free digital download are downloaded by tomorrow. I am sure that number is less as it was posted a couple of days ago but I'm sure we haven't reached the goal yet. Please pass the word around to all your friends and encourage them to get the free downloads. Supplies: MDS2+ (130646), MDS2 (130644), MDS2 upgrade (130650), or 30-day FREE trial of MDS2 (130910); Enjoying Everything Kit (132557), Timeless Taffeta Trimmings (131329), Convention 2012 Photobook Template – Curvy Frame 2 punch (130971)

One of the new Free digital downloads for National Digital Scrapbooking Day is Enjoying Everything Kit. I am thrilled with the soft colors of this kit and dainty embellishments! The weather is getting cold and winter storms are about to begin but this kit reminds us that Spring will indeed come again.

The dog got me up at 2:00 a.m. needing to be walked and I couldn't get back to sleep. So I decided to get this card made for today's blog post. I am delighted at how quickly it came together. The background is Wisteria Wonder card stock and I recolored the bow with Wisteria Wonder. All the other elements are part of the kit.

I hope you are enjoying Stampin' Up!'s week-long celebration of National Digital Scrapbooking Day. Check out www.mydigitalstudio.net for the most recent happenings.

Look in the Pocket

Bird Mini Pocket Snowflake Mini Pocket
Supplies: stamp sets – For the Birds (w-126405, c-126407) and Mixed Medley hostess set (w-128054, c-128057), Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (113439), Petite Pocket Bigz Die (123131), Apothecary Accents Framelits die (127003), Snow Flurry Bigz Die (127813), Snow Festival Designer Series Paper (126908), Watercolor Paper (122959), Brights Glimmer Brads (121006), inks – Stazon, Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink Pad, Cherry Cobbler and Gumball Green markers

One of the things my dachsie, Little One, loves to do is see what is in my pocket. She sticks her nose in and digs around until she gets ahold of the kleenix then excitedly pulls it out or maybe there will be a dog treat for her.

When you give one of these Petite Pockets as a gift, the recipient will likewise be excited to see what is in it. The contents could be a necklace or bracelet wrapped in a piece of tissue paper. They could be a gift card or perhaps even just a love note. The excitement will be there to see what is in the pocket no matter the contents. This is a very quick and easy gift wrap and a perfect way to wrap a small flat gift.

The tag on the top Petite Pocket was longer than what I needed. What I did was to cut out the whole tag using the Apothecary Accents die. Then I repositioned the framelit with the tag inside the framelit and the part I wanted cut off being outside the end of the framelit. Does that make sense to you?

October 29th was an exciting day at Stampin' Up!. Almost all the stamps and wheels were 15% off. This was an unprecedented sale! Those of you who took advantage of the sale to get some of the stamps on your wish list, THANKS!

Now it is the first of November and Stampin' Up! has an awesome hostess benefit running Nov 1 – Dec 16! When a workshop (or single order for that matter) totals $450 or more, the hostess can choose a whole set of Classic Ink Pads for FREE. This includes the Subtles, Brights, and Regals. The Neutral stamp pads are not part of the promotion. Contact me to schedule your workshop right away while I have room on my calendar. A long-distance catalog order would also qualify for this promotion so gather up your friends, collect orders from them and send them in to me. If you need more catalogs to share, let me know.

Thanks for coming to visit my blog today. Grab a cup of coffee or tea and take some time to browse my projects. If you like what you see, sign up for my newsletter in the box to the right and 'like' my Facebook page.

Have You Done It?

Spooner Farm-001
Supplies: MDS2+ (130646), MDS2 (130644), MDS2 upgrade (130650), or 30-day FREE trial of MDS2 (130910); A Split Second Designer Template Pages (132562)

Have you done it? Have you downloaded the FREE digital downloads that Stampin' Up! is giving us as part of a week-long celebration of National Digital Scrapbooking Day? If not, please do so because if 18,000 downloads are done, we will get another free download at the end of the week! Click here to see the downloads and order them. Remember, they are FREE. If you don't have MDS2 yet and are not sure you will like digital crafting, then give our 30-day Free trial of MDS2 a whirl. I'm sure you will become as addicted to it as I am. If you have any questions or problems, I am always delighted to help.

I chose to use the A Split Second Designer Template Pages download to share on this post to see if the title of the template was an indication of how long it took to make the pages. Well…I have to confess it took me much longer for several reasons. First I didn't have photos with the right orientation so I had to rotate the frames and reposition them. Then I didn't like the gray chevrons so I recolored them. Finally, I just had to have the journaling fit exactly on the journaling lines. I took a bunch of time playing with the font size and the line spacing to get it to fit. But I'm that way. When I knit a sweater, I generally am not content to follow the pattern exactly with the same colors and patterns. There is usually something I want to change. I am a terrible CASEer (Copy And Share Everything). I really like to change things up just a bit.

Well…I'm off to play some more with the free downloads. Oh…I almost forgot! This is Terrific Tuesday. We got 4 new downloads to purchase today. Click here to see them and order the ones you know you'll want. I know the photos of the downloads are quite small. Just click on them to see a bigger view and then click one more time to see an even bigger photo.

Until next time…blessings,
Sue

Spooky Savings!

Halloween Party Template-001
Supplies: MDS2+ (130646), MDS2 (130644), MDS2 upgrade (130650), or 30-day FREE trial of MDS2 (130910); Spook Central Designer Ensemble (127589), Bitty Bat punch (122152)

Yes, a second post from My Digital Craft Corner. There is so much happening at Stampin' Up! That I couldn't get it all in one post. This is just too good a deal not to share it with you.

Today is Sell-A-Stamp Spooktacular where ALL SU stamps including the wheels are 15% off except for hostess stamps and stamps that are part of a bundle. For instance, the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set combined with the Holiday Ornaments framelits is not on sale but the stamp set by itself is. This is a one-day-only sale so you must order today to take advantage of the sale. Order through my online store. If you order $150 worth of products through my store you will still get hostess benefits. The prices online have been adjusted just today for the sale price. This is a perfect time to get items on your wish list and to purcase gifts for your stamping friends!

Did you know that you can customize any of the templates in MDS and MDS2? I used the postcard Halloween invitation template from the Spook Central Designer Ensemble as my starting point for the picture at the top of the page. After opening the template, I unlocked all the page elements. Then I deleted the texts on the invitation and added my own text. I felt the words were kind of lost against the background so I added an enlarged square punch filled with Going Gray and an opacity of 50%. Then I moved that layer just behind my text. I also added three bat punches filled with Basic Black. If you haven't given digital crafting a try yet with MDS2, click on the Free 30-day trial in he supply list to order it. You have nothing to lose if you don't like the program but a lot to lose if you don't give it a try. I would love to help you get started enjoying the exciting possibilities of digital crafting.

Until next time…blessings,
